Christians have been challenged to stop sympathising with corrupt people in the society by welcoming them to their churches without addressing the matter.

According to Pastor Ronald Ogentoto of Matutu PAG church in Gesima Ward, corrupt people have used the church as a hiding place, where they 'pretend' to be clean.

“As the church we are not supposed to be sympathetic to people who are corrupt and yet they are participating in the vice, we need to rebuke them and ask them to change as one way of healing the society,” said Ogentoto

In addition, the pastor said that the nation cannot be healed if the churches cannot stand to say no to the vice and advice leaders on how to be free from the vice.

“The work of the church is to teach people on how to live a Godly life not a corrupt life, so churches should now take their role in the society if we want to build our nation, we should be against this vice,” he added.

The pastor was speaking on Monday at the church with church board members, whom he advised to be in the fore in the fight against corruption.
