Nakuru deputy governorJoseph Ruto on Sunday called on warring communities along the Nakuru-Narok border to end their differences.
Ruto urged residents in Olenguruone not to engage in retaliatory attacks but instead leave the police to handle the issue.
The deputy governor said more police officers have been deployed in the troubled area to quell tension and bring pepertrators of the violence to book.
However, more families continue to flee the area since the tribal violence was reported.
The skirmishes pitting members of the Maasai community and the Kipsigis in Olpusimoru, Narok South began on Christmas day.
It is said that they were sparked off by retaliatory attacks following the killing of two herders in Sierra Leone Narok South on Wednesday. Already three people have been confirmed dead and thousands displaced after their houses were torched.
