Gatundu North education administrator Moses Kiringu says there is need for all education development players in the county to embrace and strengthen a collective responsibility culture to uplift education standards.

Speaking from his office in Kamwangi on Friday, the administrator noted that the area had taken a downward trend in the education sector especially performance in national examinations in the recent past adding that the current education standards in the region was an embarrassment to many leaders given that the area was endowed with an education development friendly socio-economic environment.

“The county government would not achieve much in uplifting education standards if other key players operated in isolation with education development programs initiated by the county government,” said Kiringu.

The administrator said the county government led Governor William Kabogo remained committed to ensuring the overall education standards were improved from the lowest to the highest level saying a literate population was responsive in adapting and being able to implement community development initiatives.

He said: “The county government has managed to employ over a thousand Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers since the sector was devolved. Construction of modern workshops in the county polytechnics is also ongoing all in an effort to ensure educational development.”

The administrator further reiterated that the county government was out to bring all relevant stakeholders in the education sector on board so as to utilize the available potential to the maximum and ensure Gatundu North regained its long gone historical glory and becoming a model constituency in terms of overall performance.
