A Maseno University student has been hospitalized after reportedly being attacked by a gang of three armed men yesterday night in Mabungo.
The student was found Monday morning by locals dumped in a thicket and was rushed to Russia hospital in Kisumu.
It is believed he passed out due to loss of blood.
The 2nd year student was on his way back from buying supper when he was ambushed by the gang along Nyawita road at Mabungo and took away with his phone.
He suffered head injuries and stabs in his arms and back.
Residents condemned the act and are now calling upon the county government to ensure the security of locals.
“We need immediate action in this area. It is always prone to attacks since there is no security patrol. We have been neglected for a long time and I hope this becomes a wake-up call to authorities,” Ezekiel Keter said.
