Students and school leavers who have just concluded their final examinations have been advised to be careful when choosing friends to avoid bad company.

Speaking Thursday during a farewell party for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education candidates, Mrs Obadha, a teacher at Olympic Primary School said most students leave school when they are well behaved but adapt bad behaviour after meeting with other children during holidays.

“We have even witnessed several cases here at school. Parents complain of the company the children keep because it ruins their morals. I do not want any of you to engage in bad company since it will make you not realise your goals in life,” Obadha advised the primary school leavers.

She told the pupils not to fall victims of peer pressure since that is what wastes many children.

“Choose your friends wisely to avoid falling victims of peer pressure,’ she added.

Female pupils were also advised on relationships.

“Ladies, most of men out there are looking for young children like you, please respect yourselves and avoid engaging in any sexual relationships. Respect your bodies and they too will respect you. Keep yourselves busy while at home,” she advised.
