Limuru OCPD Mohammed Bakuli has given criminal gangs allegedly causing havoc in the area seven days to surrender or face the full force of the law.
In a briefing with journalists early Tuesday, Bakuli said that criminals will not be given room to cause havoc in the area.
He said that police have mapped out areas perceived to be crime zones and will move with haste to tame the criminals.
Bakuli said that criminal gangs have to surrender to police or else they will be hunted down and dealt with accordingly.
“We are not going to negotiate with criminals and we are giving them (criminals) and other law breakers seven days to surrender and reform failure to which we will hunt them down,” he said.
He said that security officials are on alert and will not allow cases of lawlessness. Bakuli said that it is their responsibility as security agencies to provide security to residents.
Bakuli appealed to area residents to support police efforts and measures aimed at ensuring security.
He said that locals have a big role to play when it comes to security matters. Bakuli said that development will be realised in a secure environment hence the need for locals to work with the police.
