As Kibera youths continue crying for the comeback of the NYS projects in the slum, many have urged the management of the project to try and find a solution for the lost money needed for the project.
President Kenyatta also seems to be in the forefront to fight the loss of money required for funding the NYS projects.
Kenyatta called on people to embrace the digital payment system to prevent loss of money at the NYS. He spoke about this in Kisumu, where he had gone to open an SDA church.
He said the NYS project will resume in February and will be spread across the country as the government seeks to empower young people.
''We should use the digital way to make sure only those who have worked for the money get paid. We will have digital registration so that the money can be transferred only to those who have worked,'' he said.
His sentiments have been echoed by Kibera youths who are desperately waiting for the project to resume. The youths said the NYS project was a source of income for them and want the president to speed up the exercise so that it resumes at the end of the month as he has promised.
