The Nakuru County transport sector is headed for a show of supremacy with a majority of taxi operators calling on authorities to implement a law that will lock out bodaboda operators from accessing the central business district.
They are accusing bodaboda operators of 'rudeness and recklessness', further saying that they were the cause of a majority of accidents on major roads within the town.
"Our governor has to do something because these bodaboda operators are congesting the town centre for no reason,"stated Ben Gitau, a taxi driver.
He argued that designating an official dropping and pick up point near town would serve the purpose.
Musa Ali, another taxi driver, regretted that the county was becoming too lenient on the operators at the expense of other road users.
"Wrong parking, dangerous overtaking and turning, hit and run, among other offences is the order of the day in Nakuru, let them clear this mess from our town centre to ease movement and increase efficiency," he said.
