A 16-year-old teenage boy was arrested today in Isinga area Matungulu sub-county after allegedly breaking into a shop in the area.
Confirming the incident Isinga location chief Bethwel Kinge'ele said that the suspect is a form one drop out who has reportedly involved himself in criminal activities.
King'ele said that the boy broke into the shop where he wanted to steal money before being nabbed by the owners who heard commotions in the shop thereby raising alarm.
The chief disclosed that many criminal activities in the area are being conducted by school dropouts who are under 18 years of age.
He urged parents to ensure that their children are in school and ensure they pay school fees since its the only way they will stay away from criminal activities.
"As a parent, ensure you pay school fees for your child, since when the child is out of school he or she becomes vulnerable to being introduced into social vices as theft, drug abuse or prostitution," said King'ele.
The suspect is being held at Kangundo police station awaiting to appear in court on Thursday.
