A pastor has appealed to the church to play an active role in restoring human dignity especially in Nakuru County.

In an interview in his office, Rev Gilbert Olang of AIC Bondeni Nakuru County, highlighted areas where the church has failed and instead has chosen to be a bystander.

“As a church, we need to work on restoring the humane aspect in our members. We are living in an era that dictates that as long as 'I get what I want I don’t care'. This is why corruption is so rampant,’’ explained Rev Olang Friday.

The AIC pastor further appealed to his fellow men of the cloth to take up their roles as a calling which requires servant leadership and at times sacrifice and should never be viewed as a means of earning a living.

He said though education provides knowledge, there is a need to include the aspect of human dignity in the system.

“As per now, the church must address the issues of greed, love for money and power which kills the humane aspect while dealing with our members. We need to relate to one another as brother and sister, comfort each other, support each other, walk hand in hand; this way we will receive God’s blessings.’’ said the Reverend.
