There are various factors that have led investors to invest in this town.

 1. Agricultural products. Agriculture is the heart of Kenya and residents of Kisii county have made this possible both directly and indirectly. Lots of farm produces are in this county; bananas, vegetables, maize, sugarcanes, fish, milk... the list is endless. This has made it possible to sustain the residents and also get extra coins in exporting the products to other counties. 

2. Education. Kisii is the home of many education institutions; from primary to university level. It has on of the best national schools (Kisii Secondary School) and various campuses including Kisii University, Mount Kenya University, Jomo KenyattaUniversity of Agriculture and Technology, The University of Nairobi among others. This has influenced the building of hostels to serve the larger number of students and residents. 

3. Good roads and infrastructure. This is evidently seen by the main road that joins major towns to Kisii. The roads are well tarmacked thus enabling easy transport. This has seen investors invest in road transport. This has greatly affected businesses positively.
