Thika OCPD Erastus Muthamia has urged motorists to exercise caution while driving at night.

Speaking at Thika town on Thursday, Muthamia said that most accidents occur at night and during early morning hours.

He observed that some motorists are taking advantage of the night to flout traffic regulations.

Muthamia said that  a section motorists especially bus and truck drivers over speed at night a move he said risks the safety of other road users.

“We are concerned by the number of accidents that occur at night as a result of motorists who fail to observe or who just ignore the traffic rules,” he said.

The OCPD said that police will not tolerate motorists who flout traffic regulations in the area.

On Wednesday night, 24 people survived death by a whisker after the vehicles they were traveling were involved in accident along the Thika -Garissa highway.
