Thika deputy OCPD Mary Kiarie has asked youths in the area to keep off criminals acts.
The OCPD has also warned young people against being lured or forced to take part in crime or terror activities.
Speaking journalists in her office on Tuesday, the Thika deputy OCPD instead urged youths to work with their leaders and law enforcers to advance security and development.
Ms Kiarie said that law enforcers will not give room for youths in the area to be radicalised or lured to join crime and terror groups.
Kiarie appealed to the youths in the area to report people who might want to influence them to join crime.
She said that police have stepped up security efforts in bid to curb crime and other lawless acts.
The deputy OCPD urged residents to be on the lookout and report suspicious people and acts.
In a statement to newsrooms on Tuesday, Police Spokesperson Charles Owino called for intensified security after it emerged that some youths were allegedly being recruited by terror agents.
Owino in the statement urged law enforcers across the country to intensify patrols and deal with elements of crime and terror.
