Thika West OCPD Erastus Muthamia has cautioned residents against harbouring or aiding criminals in their activities.

The OCPD said it is against the law for locals to support criminals, adding that those found to be working with criminals will be arrested and taken to court.

Speaking in Thika Town after holding a meeting with a section of security officials in Thika on Thursday, Muthamia said police have received information about some residents who could be aiding criminals in the area.

“Members of the public should know that it is against the law for anyone to aid or support any form of crime. We will arrest those supporting criminal activities in the area,” he said.

The OCPD said that police had put up more efforts aimed at curbing crime across Thika.

He said security patrols will be intensified across Thika, with the aim of arresting suspected criminals, and urged residents to expose criminals who could be hiding among them.

Muthamia pleaded with locals urging them to share intelligence with the police to enable them restore law and order.

He said security in the area will improve if members of the public share intelligence with the police.

The OCPD vowed to crackdown on criminals warning those planning to engage in crime this festive season of dire consequences.

Muthamia also warned youths against taking part in criminal acts saying that law will not spare any one found contravening it.
