With barely a year remaining to the next general elections, Cord leader Raila Odinga is crafting a new strategy that will see him clinch the presidential seat that has eluded him three times.
According to emerging reports, the former Prime Minister is in talks with the leaders of five political parties with a view to form a super coalition that will deny President Uhuru Kenyatta a second term in office.
It is said that Raila who wants to go for the fourth stab at the presidency is in talks with his Cord coalition partners Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula together with KANU's Gideon Moi and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi to form a grand coalition.
According to the reports, Narc Kenya's Martha Karua and Charity Ngilu's Narc are also on the fray in the new arrangement that is believed will wrestle power from Jubilee.
ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohammed confirmed to Nation that talks over a possible alliance were on-going between Raila and Mudavadi.
"I can authoritatively confirm that Mr Raila, Mr Mudavadi, Mr Moi and Mr Kalonzo are in deep talks to craft a super alliance to deliver Kenya from the yoke of corruption," Junet said.
On his part, Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula said that as Luhya leaders, they have given Mudavadi a green light to engage with other leaders for the interest of Kenyans.
