Ting’ang’a ward representative Lawrence Mwaura has challenged the youths in the area to work with him in order to propel development.

Speaking at Ting’ang’a shopping center on Monday, Mwaura said that the Kiambu government has initiated several development projects in the area adding that it will be important if the youths take interest.

“I want to ask the youths to partner with us (leaders) as we strive to promote development across this area,” he said.

Mr. Mwaura also encouraged youths and other marginalised groups to apply for government funds. He also said that through the development funds like the Uwezo and Biashara funds, youths will be able to empower themselves financially.

“Young people, women and persons living with disabilities plus other marginalised groups should grab the opportunities the government is providing them and utilise them wisely,” he advised.

The MCA said he will work with other leaders to spearhead the youth agenda and empowerment.

At the same time, Mwaura wants youths to be careful and not to associate themselves with selfish and ill motivated leaders. He said that some leaders are taking advantage of the youths being unemployed to use them wrongly.
