Traders at Weavers Market in Nakuru West have renewed calls to have the market expanded citing congestion.

Speaking Tuesday, the traders lamented that one month since they made the plea, no action had been taken by the county government.

"We are being taken for a ride because we informed officials at the Trade ministry and they promised to do something but that appears to be a pipe dream,"said Mary Kirubi, a grocer.

Her sentiments were echoed by Daniel Okello who said they feel cheated.

Otieno added that big lorries, donkeys and cyclists had made movement cumbersome because the market is very narrow.

They now want the Ministry of Trade to move in and ensure they fulfill the pledge of expanding the market.

However, efforts to have the ministry officials comment on the matter were futile as they were reportedly in a meeting.
