Turkana County is in the process of developing a county policy that will help in peace building and conflict management.
Speaking during a consultative and training forum for senior officials from county governments of Turkana and West Pokot in Eldoret on Monday, Turkana County secretary Peter Eripete said the policy will help bring peace among the warring communities.
"The policy is envisioned to enhance coordination in prevention, mitigation and management of conflicts and sustained peace building process," he said.
The secretary added; "The policy will enhance peaceful coexistence of the communities living at the border,” he said.
Eripete said the Turkana government is determined to bring the warring tribes together through dialogue to burry the hatchet and live harmoniously with one another.
"I urge political leaders from Turkana and West Pokot counties to embrace dialogue in solving issues instead of fighting every now and then,” he concluded
