Two bodaboda operators have been arrested today, 15 Feb in the morning after allegedly causing an accident along Machakos-Kathiani road.

Confirming the incident Machakos OCPD Adiel Nyange said that they were overspeeding and one tried to overtake hitting a vehicle from behind.

The other driver lost control and caused injuries to the passengers on board.

"It's unfortunate that the two bodaboda operators tried to convert their motorbikes into safari rally and accelerated in unacceptable speeds causing the accident and it's ironical the incident has occurred near Machakos police station. Their customers are the ones who have sustained injuries therefore, we will deal strictly with them," said Nyage.

He cautioned anyone who has the same habit or might be thinking of starting the same to cease because it's very dangerous and can cause death.

Machakos town bodaboda operators chairman Allan Musembi also arrived in the scene and said that its a bad show as such has never happened in Machakos town since he was elected as the chairman.

"I have never witnessed this in Machakos town or even its environments. It's a bad show to other bodaboda operators," said Musembi.

The two have been arrested and taken to Machakos police station waiting to be arraigned in court while the injured people have been rushed to Machakos level five hospital.
