Two brothers lost their lives on Wednesday evening after a motorcycle they were riding got involved in an accident along the Kisii-Nyamira highway.
Confirming the incident Kisii-Nyamira highway patrol officer Kenedy Cheruiyot confirmed that Arnold Otwori and Griffins Otwori died on the spot after the motor cycle they had boarded was hit by a car heading to Kisii town from Nyamira town.
The officer said that the driver of the car was seriously injured when the car rolled though, he is currently receiving treatment at Nyamira Hospital.
He also confirmed that the boda boda rider sustained serious injuries, and were both rushed to Nyamira Referral hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
“The highway of late has been recording high numbers of accidents, and I would like to call upon all the area drivers to keep an eye to reduce such case,” he added.
This comes barely a month after area residents demonstrated, demanding the setting up of road bumps along the highway due to the increasing accidents.
