Two women were arrested on Wednesday in Maseno after causing chaos and unrest in a Maseno market.

The two are believed to have disagreed over money issues where it was stated that one of the ladies owed another money and so, they saw the best way to sort out that issue was to work it out by physically assaulting each other. When efforts to quell the two failed, one of the traders called the police who responded and arrested the two and taken to Maseno Police station.

They are alleged to have started by calling each other names and when they could no longer control their anger, they resolved to fight where they damaged a number of goods belonging to other traders. Traders were shocked as the two have always are said to be good friends.

''I have always known the two to be good friends. I was shocked to see them on each others neck.'' said Martha Ochieng, one of the traders in the market.

The Maseno OCS, Erick Langat, cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands saying no one was above the law.
