The conmen conduct interviews to anyone who needs a job provided they are given money.

Speaking at Kimumu, during the recruitment exercise, Tanui said the exercise is free and fair and only conducted at the ground.

"We have received reports that there are some conmen who cheat residents that they can be employed without going through the normal process after paying some money. The exercise is free of charge and we only employ on merit,'' said Tanui.

He added that the application is done at the scene, the exercise and that the whole process is transparent. He urged Uasin Gishu residents to report such individuals and promised to take stern action against them.

"The process of recruitment kicked off on Monday and will go on in every ward. We are targeting a total of 110 askaris, at least, each ward getting three or four askaris, " he stated.

Tanui urged Uasin Gishu residents to show up in large numbers and try their luck.
