Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge Ben has urged Members of Parliament from Nakuru County to capitalise on the Constituency Development Fund in having more people apply for national identity cards.

Njoroge noted that the funds are meant for development, and if channelled towards having more people apply for identity cards, it will be a remarkable development.

“There is a big problem in application of identity cards and my appeal is to the MPs to use monies from the CDF which is meant for development to facilitate the travel of officials from the Registrar of Persons department to the region so that more people can apply for the ID cards. After all, this is development so the money is put into good use,” he said on Thursday in Naivasha.

The senator also urged people collect their identity cards at the Registry offices in the county, following reports that there are thousands of uncollected cards.
