Kisii County Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO) chair lady Mrs Bathseba Sanaya has underscored the importance of university students using their education and revered position in the society to act as change agents in their families and communities to assure women and children of peace and security.

Speaking at Kisii Culture Hall on Wednesday after the launch of the 16-days of activism against GBV, Sanaya challenged the youth to take a leading role in the fight against GBV, and ensure their families and communities enjoy peace and security.

Sanaya observed that young people who constitute the country's majority are best placed to preach peace and ensure the country is free of all forms of violence.

"I am challenging our young people, especially university students to utilise their education and position in the society to preach peace in their families and communities," Sanaya said.
