Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi on Friday challenged Moi University and other institutions to contribute to the country's development agenda by engaging in innovation technologies that offer solutions to problems affecting society.
"I call upon all the institutions of higher learning to put in place better coordination to enhance development and application of science, innovation and technology with a view of solving problems that this country faces," said the CS through his representative Michael Kahiti during the varsity's 31st graduation ceremony.
The CS also highlighted a number of issues affecting the varsity including lack of physical facilities saying it poses a major challenge in accommodating students.
"Accommodation is a major challenge, students need to stay and live in a better environment to enable them advance in learning, '' noting that the varsity with the government, should speed up construction of hostel.
The university leadership vowed to take security issues seriously saying proper measures will be put in place in the New Year..
Moi University, however, boosted of Rivatex Textile Industry which it says has been training their students particularly those pursuing engineering.
