Elburgon MCA Florence Njoroge has defended the role women leaders’ play in the community saying they lead responsibly.
Njoroge while speaking in her constituency on Friday said it is time for the community to support women who will vie for variuos leadership positions.
“We are experiencing a shift in our politics and we have more women who want to vie for elective positions but they are weighed down by lack of support from the community,” she said.
Njoroge said as a women's leader who has been in leadership for the past three years, she will seek to retain her seat come 2017.
“I have worked for the people of Elburgon diligently for the time I have been in office and I want to grow and develop my ward and the people in the ward. Come 2017, I will ask you to vote me back in the same capacity and in the same ward,” she said.
She called on other women leaders to unite and sensitise the community on the importance of having a woman as a leader saying they lead responsibly.
She also defended development record of Nakuru County Government saying Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has worked to the best of his knowledge in developing the county.
