Gatundu North former Member of Parliament Clement Kungu Waibara on Saturday condemned the state of Insecurity in Gatundu North especially in Makwa and accused the police of laxity and engaging in corrupt activities.
"Despite the fact that i raised the matter to some of the higher authorities over the incompetence of the police officers in this area, no action has been taken," he said.
He lamented that the death of Peter Mwaura who was murdered on Monday at river Chania after losing consciousness because he was drunk. He vowed to engage the local administrators in eliminating bribes given to police who part with resident’s money for nonexistent crimes.
Kungu who was speaking in Makwa during the funeral service of Peter Mwaura said that he will raise the matter to the area member of parliament since there seems to be no action from the higher authorities in the police force.
The former legislator further cited situation where suspects arrested are made to pay bribes at the police station and wondered whether the police stations were now the court of law.
