Former CS of devolution and planning, Anne Waiguru, was on Sunday cleared by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC). The former CS was alleged to be a key suspect in the National Youth Service (NYS) saga which saw the loss of sh791 million.
Waiguru had been alleged of approving contracts which led to the loss of money that was meant to promote the development programs and pay youths taking part in the projects.
The news of her clearance was made on Sunday. This was not only great news for her but also to her supporters in Kibera. Youths from the slum expressed their joy by calling her their saviour.
Said Abdul from Makina said the EACC had done a good job by showing the public how blameless she was.
''I am happy for her. I guess it was the best news she could have received. She worked hard to transform Kibera. I salute her efforts,'' said Abdul.
Boaz Waweru, another youth, said the EACC had created a good name for the former CS and urged the head of state to consider her for another post.
Another source, Winnie Alfred, congratulated Waiguru saying her light should now shine brighter. She also supported her political dream of becoming a Nairobi politician.
