Waitiki Farm residents have blamed Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima for their land woes.
Speaking to this writer on Monday at the farm, the residents said the lawmaker has a hand in their land ownership problems.
The residents criticised the MP for his continued friendship with President Uhuru Kenyatta, who they accuse of contravening their rights by issuing title deeds that will see them own the land on a leasehold basis.
“Mwahima should tell us what he knows about this land. He has remained silent about the issue and that is not good at all. We elected him to represent our interests but he has gone to represent the interests of other people,” said Hassan Bakari, a resident.
Bakari threatened to mobilise residents to ensure they vote out the MP during the coming general elections.
Mwanaisha Abdi, a resident, asked the MP to support them by helping them repossess the land.
“We are requesting him to help us in this land battle. We elected him and we expect him to stand with us,” she said.
Paul Katana, a Waitiki Farm resident, faulted the MP for remaining silent over the issue.
“By not helping us, Mwahima has decided to vote himself out of the next election,” said Katana.
