Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi has cautioned youths in the county against being lured to violence.

Speaking to residents of Thika town on Monday, the senator asked youths to shun people who want to use them to cause violence and disrupt peace. The senator noted that some selfish people are keen to use young people to cause violence in some parts of Kiambu.

“Our youths are becoming vulnerable to people who want to misuse them by causing violence and disrupting peace,” he said.

Wamatangi further asked law enforcers to streamline security across the county and deal with acts of crime. He warned that failure by security agencies to address instances of crime in Kiambu would scare away business people.

The senator at the same time has called for investigations into the burning of Makongeni market in Thika. He urged the police to immediately probe and take action against the culprits involved in the suspected arsonist attack on the market.
