Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has pledge Sh1million to the ward that will lead in the ongoing Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) mass voter registration process within the county.

Ranguma said it’s a competition and they want people more that 250,000 to come out in large numbers and register as voters.

He said it was worrying that 10,000 IDs within the county is still lying idle at the Immigration bureaus.

Speaking in Kisumu, Ranguma said he has liaised with Local Provincial Administration, Chiefs and Sub chiefs to ensure that the IDs reach their owners.

He said this will enable them register in the ongoing mass voter registration by the Independent Electoral Commission.

Ranguma said he has already dispatched teams that will mobilise residents to turn out in large numbers as voters from Kisumu County.

“People should come out in large numbers and register as voters to enable Raila win the presidential election in 2017,” he said.

He said leaders from different polling stations, wards and even sub counties to come out in large numbers and mobilize residents.

This comes as low turnout has been registered in the first week of the ongoing process of voter registration across the country by IEBC.
