Nairobi-based savings and credit society limited, Waumini Sacco on Tuesday opened its doors to Nakuru residents during an event held at the Nakuru Caatholic Diocese headquarters.
The event coincided with the opening of a new building, CDN Family Plaza.
Nakuru Diocese Catholic Bishop Maurice Muhatia, was the chief guest.
Membership is only limited to Catholic members.
The Sacco draws its membership from employees of Catholic based organisations and Catholic faithful in Kenya.
The Sacco primarily mobilises savings and deposits and extends credit to its members thereby empowering them economically and socially.
Among other range of products the Sacco intends to bring in the market include; development loans, emergency loans, and bridging loan facility.
Waumini Savings and Credit Society Ltd was registered in 1980 under the Co-operatives Society Act of Kenya.
Currently it has about 18,000 members.
