Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama on Tuesday while launching the the county's vision dubbed 'The Nyamira We Want Vision 2020' assured the assembly that the county's development map was on course and that his government had made tremendous strides in the past three years.
While addressing the county assembly on Tuesday during the official opening of the Nyamira County Assembly 4th Session, Nyagarama used the opportunity to highlight some of his government's achievements in the past one year.
"The state of the county affairs has seen remarkable improvement in several sectors as we have provided the basic infrastructures for the last three years into devolved governance and its the opportune time we embark on Mega flagship projects to sustain the momentum," he said.
Health, education, agriculture and infrastructure are some of the sectors the governor remarked that he had made overwhelming outpace in.
The governor further emphasised the county's commitment in the health sector, promising to enhance and improve the county's ambulatory services.
"My government is committed to ensuring the highest attainable standard of health. Our policy aims to ensure that all our people have access to well-equipped health facilities and well trained and motivated health care workers," the governor said.
He singled out corruption as a major challenge to his government.
