Nakuru County through its health and sanitation department has exuded confidence that cholera threat in the county has been totally wiped out.
Speaking in Nakuru's Wakulima market after a health and sanitation inspection exercise on Thursday, Dr Joseph Lenai, County Health and Sanitation director noted that they were satisfied with the response so far.
He said that after successfully fighting the disease, the next huddle was to seal all loopholes that could cause another outbreak.
"We want to start with our markets to ensure that our people are not exposed to any other threat," he said.
Dr Lenai cautioned hoteliers, fast food traders, fruit sellers and eatery operators to ensure cleanliness or risk being locked out of business.
"When there is an outbreak, you call on the government to intervene, but when your are told to adhere to the necessary health standards, you complain. This time, we will even be forced to revoke their licences for non-compliance," he warned.
He urged all concerned stakeholders to help in fighting the disease saying that a healthy society was a productive society.
