There is something that is quite off with Rhonda estate in Nakuru.
Over the years, it has often been identified with bedbugs which are a sad state of affairs for the residents but they keep coming back every now and then.
The tiny insects have been a source of discomfort for the residents but the situation keeps getting worse with each day rising as new reports from the area now indicate there is heavy infestation of the insects currently and children have been hard hit.
But the big question that keeps bugging many times is; what brings about the cumbersome insects?
Are they so much resistant to pesticides which the county government has been using or is it that they love being in Rhonda so much that if they are moved elsewhere they would not survive?
For anybody who has had firsthand experience on the kind of discomfort a single bedbug can bring about truly empathises with residents of Rhoda estate.
It keeps on biting and biting; it never tires and every bite comes about with a high sensation to rub and it could become engaging only that the minute you rub yourself, you start developing rashes and lumps.
In short, your body becomes bumpy.
Again, bedbugs are scientifically said to be at their prime in disturbing people in places where hygiene has not been given too much attention.
And yes, hygiene again in Rhonda is something that cannot be said out in loud.
It is said in hushed tones because cleanliness there is something you cannot really define.
But, a lasting solution needs to found once and for all.
