Widows from Kisii county have urged the national and county governments to remember them by involving them in activities that can help them develop.
Led by Margret Obiria, the chairperson of Sauti Ya Wajane, the widows have challenged the national and county governments to remember them by involving them in activities which will promote them and the nation at large.
''As the Sauti ya Wajane, we are urging the governments to involve us widows by remembering us in projects that affect the environmen. We also exist in this society and should not be shunned,'' said Ms. Obiria.
She was speaking in Kisii on Tuesday and urged the county government to open them a Sacco which they will use for saving and borrowing loans so that they can start some business.
In addition, Ms. Obiria said that widows who are left in early stages need proper guidance on how to live and on how to establish some business that can help their family.
