Winnie Odinga, daughter to the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leader Raila Odinga has come out defending her family and stating why she is proud to be an ‘Odinga’.
During an interview with a local television station, Winnie said she is proud to be an ‘Odinga’ since the family has managed to what she termed as being on the ‘right side of history’.
She stated that the Odinga family has managed to stick together and weather all the storm and that is what makes them close.
“What binds us together is what we have gone through. My father Raila Odinga is always there for us as well as all Kenyans,” said Winnie, who added that most of her family members love football and that they go to watch football matches together.
She stated that her favourite teams are Gor Mahia in the local Sport Pesa league and Arsenal in the English Premier League.
She recalled how her brother Raila Junior bulled her and how the late Fidel Odinga would come to her rescue.
Winnie stated that her sister is close to her and she visits her every day as she keeps in touch with the rest of the family.
