The land on which Githunguri Primary School in Machakos County is sitting was donated by a woman, the school's head teacher Ms Deborah Kithuka has said.
Ms Kithuka Wednesday said the school was established in January 2012 immediately the woman voluntarily issued the land.
"The now area MP Patrick Makau gave his personal donation of five lorries of stones in 2013 for construction of the very first classrooms, a year after the school was established," she said.
According to Ms Kithuka, the school has achieved its infrastructural development very fast, moving from "mabati" structures to a now pleasant storey building.
She said the woman was exceptional and argued that it was not easy for an individual to sacrifice her own personal land, among other property, for a public utility.
She said there were isolated cases of either individuals or cartels of land grabbers grabbing land for their own vested interests.
