A leader from Mavoko sub county was on Saturday nabbed by officers over poor sanitation of one of her Athi river based properties.
The sub county's Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organization chairlady Angeline Mutethia was arrested by officers from the region's public health department.
Mutethia who was at her residence in Bondeni slum within Athi river has been accused of allegedly ignoring her residential houses within the same slum area by living them under pathetic conditions thereby exposing her tenants to diseases such as cholera.
The officers who made the arrest said that Mutethia's property did not have enough toilets to serve her tenants living in mabati structured houses within the informal settlement.
Mutethia was locked up at the Athi river police station cells for several hours but was later released on cash bail; she was ordered to go construct toilets in all her properties with immediate effect.
The incident came barely a week since Cholera outbreak was reported in the slum after a middle aged man was diagnosed with the disease at Athi river Health Centre.
