A 30-year-old woman was on Monday arraigned in a Kisii law court before chief magistrate John Njoroge for possession of illicit brew contrary to the Kenyan law.

The accused, Jane Kerubo, was caught with 20 litres of liquor popularly known as kangaraa, on January 16, 2016, this year by the administration police officers who were under operation in Nyansancha Village, Kiogoro location, Kisii County.

She pleaded guilty and asked the court to forgive her since it was her first-time engaging in such illegal business.

According to Kerubo, she is the bread winner of her two children who are in school. She further added that life is getting harder each and every day and that is why she opted to partake in the illegal business.
