Who said that true love does not exist unless one is properly loaded or leaving in leafy suburbs of Nakuru town?

Well, this is far from the truth since there is a couple from Bahati that tied the knot on Sunday in a Bahati church after being separated for  27 years!

They took the vows affirming what they have practiced best in the last 27 years when they were apart; they will always be there for each other, in good times and in bad times.

The lesson learnt from Joseph Kinyua, 52, and his 48-year-old wife Josephine Kinyua, epitomizes that true love really exists even in the hardest of moments.

Kinyua has been behind bars at kamiti Maximum Prison for the last 27 years after being sentenced to death and later reduced to a life sentence.

But his wife never gave up on that beautiful dream they once shared back in the early 80’s when they knew not - a tide that would follow in the next years trying in every way possible to crush and distort the dream to live together.

Ladies and gentlemen, indulge me for a minute and let Kinyua’s analogy be a stark reminder that true love really exists only to those who persevere and work towards keeping the fire burning.

It sounds like rocket science to many people of the 21st century who are always more than ready to stand up and go once expectations especially those that border on unmet financial needs arise.

The moral of the story remains to be that true love is not automatic; you have to labour for it and withstand all adversaries for you to come out triumphantly.
