Nyamira parents have been asked to be patient as their babies will soon be receiving the PSG vaccine that protects them against Tuberculosis.
Speaking in Nyamira town on Wednesday, the county’s Director for medical services Jack Magara said the vaccine will be ready by next week.
“Am informing parents and guardians in Nyamira County that the PSG vaccine will be ready in one or two weeks time. Your babies will be vaccinated with the vaccine even after a period of two weeks. This vaccine is important since it protects newborn babies from TB,” said Magara.
“We have not had the vaccine for a while now but once we get it, you will be required to bring your children for the vaccination,” he added.
Many hospitals in the entire country have missed out on the vaccine in the last three weeks and it will be a relief for parents with babies who have not been taken through the process if it's availed.
