President Uhuru Kenyatta should disband the entire Cabinet and reconstitute it afresh, suggests a Kisii politician.

Speaking on Thursday while addressing youth in Kisii town, Nyaribari Chache Youth Leader and Uwezo Fund chairperson Josephat Nyamache said reconstituting the Cabinet with new faces will give Kenyans the confidence the President was serious in fighting graft.

Mr Nyamache however, lauded the resignation of Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru.

"She should have resigned earlier. However, I applaud her for finally heeding to the calls from all quarters" the politician said.

He said her resignation was a clear indicator that the country was moving in the right direction in fighting graft as leaders were ready to resign when implicated.

He urged the appointed individuals to also carry their duties diligently without fear or favour.

In the Cabinet reshuffle, the President increased Cabinet Secretary positions from 19 to 20 and state departments from 26 to 41.
