Youth in Kiambu county has been challenged to pursue their formal academic education to completion for them to attain quality mandatory documents to enable them register for training and recruitment opportunities in the county of Kiambu.
Speaking to youths from his ward at Gituamba Township on Tuesday, Gituamba youth and sporting activities director Daniel Kagochi said the county government was committed to successfully implementing programs geared towards improving the lives of the youth among other vulnerable groups.
"As much as potential employers may be in need of people with technical and vocational training, any training employment panel will insist on seeing commendable academic certificates from all candidates," he observed.
The youth officer in the area discouraged parents against advising their children to venture into the business before completing their formal education and attaining the highest possible education level.
Kagochi warned the youth against pushing their parents into giving money to either county staff or civilians on promises of jobs citing that neither his office nor that from the county headquarters will be liable for any loss of money.
"Education is the only way of getting a job post in an office. I have heard people complain that they were lured into lies after being promised county jobs on sending money to staffs. It’s better to note that my office or that of the county headquarters won’t be liable for any loss of money in the name of a job search as youths should follow the right procedure which I believe is education," he said.
The officer revealed that the laid down procedures would always be followed in advertising for available vacancies for application and final recruitment.
