Jubilee Alliance (JAP) Kisii branch acting chairman Peter Magere is calling on youths to take advantage of empowerment programs the government has set up for them.
Addressing a group of youths at JAP Kisii branch offices, Magere said that lack of information about the programs has locked out most youths from accessing the Youth Development Funds.
He called on area MPs and other leaders to mobilise and assist the youth form groups to take advantage of the Youth Development Fund by applying for the loans.
"The youth should be mobilised and sensitised on the need to access loans because that will see them get empowered," he said.
He said the government has invested heavily in the youth by rolling out Youth Development and Uwezo Funds that seek to benefit and empower them.
Magere added that if the youth access and prudently use the funds, unemployment issue will become a thing of the past.
