Youths have been cautioned against attending the much social media publicised Project-X.

Several leaders have warned that such events damage good morals.

The leaders called on the government to intervene and save the young generation from indulging in such illicit activities.

Murang’a Deputy Governor Gakure Monyo warned that such a project that its invitation is circulating on social media at a time when the country is celebrating 2015 KCSE results might tap in innocent youthful and ruin their young careers.

He condemned the project that is suspected to be organised by drug barons in a bid to tap youths into trading drugs and substance abuse, calling on parents to be vigilant on their children on the set date for the party, Saturday, March 12.

Project X advert on social media tells it all with slogans such like: “No one goes home a virgin…” Everything goes…the less you wear, the better or nothing at all…”

University of Nairobi's Prof Kiarie Mwaura said he was saddened by the way students conduct themselves in the campuses citing a case in which one of his law students led the murder of 147 fellow students at Garissa University, after the student had joined Al Shabaab.

Prof Kiarie said that most graduates lack skills that their employers look for and it is best that the scholars are addressed on such skills, discipline and ambitions early enough before joining universities.

The leaders were speaking at an event that saw 32 beneficiaries of Murang’a County Initiative (MCI), Doctors, Professors and leaders come together to mentor students on life ahead the university.
