The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, which is the second largest Referral Hospital in the Country, will start offering surgery services to its patients after the completion of the ongoing doctors’ training.
Speaking to journalists on Monday at the Hospital’s premises, Chief Executive Officer John Kibosia said that the construction of a special children hospital and a cancer centre at a whooping Sh3 billion is complete, and will soon be opened for public use.
“The children centre has a capacity of accommodating more than one hundred children at once, the project was fully funded by the Shoe4 Africa Foundation until its completion,” he said.
He added that the two units will soon be operationalised to boost the services offered by the institution, and it will save patients from traveling to Nairobi and oversees for cancer treatment.
“The cancer centre will be fully equipped with modern fully fledged cancer treatment equipment to cater for the increasing number of patients in the region,” he noted.
Concerning his stay in office, Kibosia assured Kenyans that he is back in office legally, and he will work hard to ensure he delivers quality services.
“My contract will end come December 2015 and the move of trying to remove me from office before my retirement time is illegal and out of order, I have not refused to leave but when the right time reaches I will,” he said.
