Nyahera residents in Kisumu West Constituency have complained over the rising insecurity in the area.
Recently, two suspected thugs were lynched by angry residents at Daraja Mbili area along Kisumu-Busia road, after residents accused them of hacking residents with machetes.
St. George’s Secondary School Deputy Pricipal Alice Aoko, speaking to this writer said the area suffers from insecurity, with the number of theft cases on the rise.
She said that there are cases of residents being attaced by roaming thugs as early as ten o’clock at night.
The educationist noted that residents in the area are living in fear, as cases of thugs breaking into houses rise.
“It is terrible at Nyahera nowadays, and we are really wondering where the police are when all this is happening. Where are the police who are supposed to be patrolling in this area at night?” she ased.
Thomas Odhiambo, a resident and a former police reservist challenged the police to enhance security, to avoid cases of residents taking the law into their own hands by resorting to mob justice.
