Speaking on Wednesday during a fundraiser for Sameta youth group, area MCA Evans Siko criticised area youths for constantly blaming the political leadership for their predicaments without coming up with substantial proposals that could be supported

Siko raised concern over the increasing number of youths who are allegedly participating in crime-related activities, besides asking local authorities to take stern action against them.

“Sometimes it’s ironical that some of the youths always use their time in criticizing politicians on problems affecting them, but they don’t even have concrete proposals that could be supported by political elites. Time has come for you people to work hard for the sake of development,” he said.

He reiterated his commitment towards supporting youths to realise their dreams, but challenged them to stand counted by participating in economically engaging activities.

“I am always ready to support you. That is why I have brought Sh200,000 from my own pocket because you convinced me. But remember nothing good comes easy. As youths, you must work hard to sustain yourself and this is possible through formation of youth groups,” he added.

His sentiments were supported by his counterpart from Bombaba-Borabu Koina Onyancha, who asked youths to be ‘assertive and visionary’ by constituting youth groups that could be supported.
