Diocese of Eldoret Catholic Bishop Cornelius Korir has asked politicians to focus on service delivery and shun wrangles which he said were derailing development.

Speaking at the Eldoret Cathedral on Monday, Korir said the continued wrangles among politicians do not augur well for the country’s economic growth.

The Catholic bishop said that politicians have the responsibility of delivering services to Kenyans, adding that unity among politicians and elected leaders will provide a platform for development.

“Our politicians should bury their differences and work towards providing services to Kenyans,” he said.

The cleric told politicians to put aside their personal interests and focus on addressing the issues affecting Kenyans.

He urged the government and the opposition to put the interests of Kenyans first saying that the church will provide its support so that development can be realised.

He lauded the government’s initiatives aimed at boosting security and urged Kenyans to support the initiatives.

He, however, said more needs to be done to ensure there is adequate security if development is to be realised.
